We kicked off 2012 with a big trek through Marymoor Park....which happens to be acres and acres of off-leash, doggy friendly terrain. It was beautiful out...sunny and 62!! The girls ran and played and soaked in the fresh air of a new year! 2011 was full of blessings and lots of love...we hope 2012 is the same! Happy New Year!

I'm a bit late in getting these up...but Christmas definitely came to our house! The girls set out cookies, milk and carrots for Mr. Clause and his reindeer before going to bed. And...because Millie was so worried about Santa getting in, since we don't have a chimney, she placed a key under the mat for him. And it worked!! Santa made it in, and Millie swears she heard the reindeer on the roof during the night. So fun! They were thrilled with their loot....and we love that Walter still loves opening presents too ;)

We had a couple of hours to spare, while Jaimeson was doing a bit of work in Vancouver, on our way down from Whistler. My dear friend, Megan took time off work and met the girls and I for lunch at our favorite restaurant, Burgoo. And then we let the girls burn off some energy at the park, before heading back to Seattle. She shot these photos...she's an awesome photographer!! Thanks, Megs! xo

Christmas downtown!

Fun, Fun, Fun! It was worth the crazy crowds, and hard-to-find parking to celebrate in the holiday festivities downtown. We visited Santa at Macy's...and in Millie's words..."mom, he remembered my name!" (thumbs up, Santa!) Millie was very confident and made sure she told him everything she wanted. Esmee...wasn't too into him, but LOVED his reindeer...who doesn't??? Macy's also had a "Santa letter writing" station set up...mailbox and all! Again, AWESOME!! We then rode the carousel, and topped off the morning with a pink doughnut!! Happy Holidays, everyone!!

The girls and I joined Jaimeson for a mid-week business trip up to Whistler last week....and it was all pleasure! I LOVE THAT PLACE! We put Millie in all day ski-school...7 full hours on her own, tearing up the slope. They ate cookies in the snow, drank chocolate milk, rode snow-mobiles (twice), had story time, and of course, skied! She LOVED it. She got "great job" for everything on her report card, except she got a "needs improvement" for "carrying her own ski gear." What a little diva...probably because daddy is always her caddy ;) And...according to her instructor, she was the most well behaved! Yeah, Millie. And while Mills was snowplowing, Esmee stayed at the Westin nursery and had a wonderful day too. She did lots of art projects....and the nannies even took the babes on the Gondola for an hour....how cool is that??? And if that wasn't enough, the little tikes dined in the Westin restaurant....ha!

So while the girls were enjoying their day off from Jaim and I, we got a full 6 hours of snowboarding in together...which is unheard of these days! It was a blast for the whole family!!

We saw a lot of our dear friends and even got to hang out with a few Superheroes ;)!

Well, Jaimeson and I (really just me) thought that maybe we could stage our own photo shoot this year to capture the girls and maybe save a little money by not hiring a professional. Bad idea :) 1. We're not the greatest photographers (know nothing about lighting, timing etc.) and 2. these two monkeys did not want to cooperate...go figure! There was plenty of whining, hair pulling, looking away from the camera, scampering out of shot, crying, walter walking in front of the shot, howling and just plain disregard for what we were trying to do! Ha! I give huge credit to children's photographers..it's not easy! Here are a few from the "shoot!" Enjoy :)

Amazing Thanksgiving!

We left Seattle on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, with a car full of food/fun and family. We rented a house in Port Ludlow, WA, on the Hood Canal with our dear friends The Arnolds and The Davidsons. A 30 minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle, followed by a 40 minute drive through the Olympic Peninsula. It was majestic to say the least. The weather was stormy, but we were right on the water...so the clouds rolling in made it all the more cozy inside. The house was perfect for 6 adults, 4 kids and 3 dogs! We cooked up a feast on Thanksgiving, watched non-stop football, played games, went for walks, and chatted our hearts out until the wee hours of the morning. Lots of laughs! A trip for the memory books for sure!
