Although, we celebrate Earth Day every day in our house, today was extra special, being that it is the official Earth Day on the calendar! We met up at our friend Beckie's house for some celebrating. Their house is like Disneyland, complete with a tree house, HUGE backyard (rare in Seattle), slide, swing, sandbox, motorized 4 wheeler, train set and toys galore! Millie is always excited to go there and NEVER wants to leave! We made pine cone bird feeders with the kids....peanutbutter, cornmeal, oats and cranberries! It was a complete mess but oh-so-fun! The kids played for hours....Millie's bath water was needless to say...dirty!!! Happy Earth Day!
a little impromptu brunch at our house...we had a few cartons of local, farm fresh eggs to cook up, so we called in the troops. Beautiful start to our Sunday!!! Friends over for sushi tonight, will round out this perfect 10 weekend!!!!
Millie and Emmett watching "Jungle Book" while we got to enjoy our eats!
We started off our Sunday with a walk in the woods, so Walter could go squirrel hunting. For those of you concerned, to date he has yet to catch one :) Millie picked up every pine cone, stick and rock she could find. We followed up our walk with a free concert at Alphabet Soup....The Harmonica Pockets....they set Dr. Seuss stories to music....very cool. And then we headed over to the Ballard Farmers Market to buy our weekly fresh stuff. It was a beautiful day in Seattle....now we're ready for a nap :) Hope everyone has a great week!!! xo
We went to our friends, The Lockhart's, for a wonderful Easter brunch and egg hunt. Their Au Pair from Brazil, Lillian, painted the kids faces and made them bunnies. Millie has been fascinated by all of the bunnies decorating the shops around town...so to become one was super special! Dana scattered the eggs in PLAIN view around their yard, but funny enough, it still took the little tots a bit to find them...tee hee! They had a blast though and it was a great way to spend Easter Sunday!
