Hey...when is this Santa guy coming???

New snowboard gear

Yep...this is Jaimeson's new snow-suit!  I will have no trouble finding him on the mountain this year :-)  Can't wait for the snow to fall!!

Me and Mom!

Super Millie!

Me and my bear!

A couple of weeks ago, we received this sweater that Millie's wearing, from Jaimeson's Aunt Beth and Uncle Jeff.  Aunt Beth hand knit it, with wool that she sheared and spun on her loom from their sheep on their organic farm on Cape Cod.......I know, AMAZING, huh!!?!!  They also included this stuffed bear which Millie has become great buds with!  Enjoy the photos!!  Thanks, Jeff and Beth...it's beautiful!!  P.s...we named the bear "Dennis" since he's from E. Dennis ;-)

What a cannon!

Like most parents probably do, lately we've been prone to wondering what Millie's future may hold in terms of her career interests. Naturally we agree with the old and wise parental doctrine that "we don't care what she does, so long as she's happy." But perhaps prompted by her physician's recent confirmation that she's big and healthy for her age, I can't help but wonder, would she be happier being a professional athlete than most of the other working stiffs out there, like her dad?
Today's news neither confirms nor denies the possible answers to that question, however, it does tell us that when it comes to throwing things, she's a natural!

While Dad was in the kitchen washing bottles (hey! its true, I was not checking my Fantasy Football stats at that time since it was between games 2 and 3), he heard the sound of a light item hitting the hardwoods. Knowing that Walter had been sitting up on his chair looking out the window for Mom to return from the store, I presumed he had caused the sound.  But when I approached him, he just looked at me as if to say, "Come on, man. I'm 7 now - I don't cause problems anymore." That's when I turned my head from the living room into the nursery, where I had left Millie following a diaper change with her favorite set of rings in her hand.

And lo and behold, standing in the doorway I looked down to see the rings at my feet. Beaming with pride, I rushed over to Millie and hugged her and gave her high 5's. Then I rushed down to my tool bench and returned with the tape measure. 6 feet exactly!

So look out Tom Brady and look out Coco Crisp! We may have a female contender for the pro ranks here in our midst.

I've commissioned the highest authority in the house to bronze the rings in their current position and create a placard to commemorate this historic moment, however that request was promptly denied.

Mission Command Center

Our good friends Miaka, Kenny and Otis have been awesome at passing down their gadgets that Otis has outgrown!  This seems to be Millie's favorite by far!!   I put her in it this morning, after just receiving it last night.  I had her in it for 30 minutes and thought she might need a break.  As I picked her up out of it, she promptly let me know that she was not ready to get out!!!!  Hours of fun!!!  Thanks, guys!

Healthy Baby Girl!

Millie went in for her 4 month check up on Tuesday this week.  Our doctor told us that she is as healthy as a 4 month old could possibly be!!  She weighed in at 15.5 lbs, and measured 25.2" long....she's in the 90th percentile for both height and weight!!!!  No wonder she's outgrowing her clothes so fast....she's a growing girl!!!  I just love her chubby cheeks....they're soooooo cute!!  She was a bit upset with me at the appointment because she had to get not one, but three shots that day...and I'm the meanie that held her down :-(   But she got over it pretty fast, and was full of smiles and giggles on the car ride home :-)

4 months old today!!!!

Millie is 4 months old today...where does the time go???!!!!  It seems like yesterday, we were bringing her home from the hospital.  She's getting so strong.  She loves being outside in the fresh air...even if it's raining.  We go for a long stroller walk every day.  She's got the cutest little giggle.  She loves taking baths and kicking all of the water out of the tub (we  have to be fast to get her clean before the water all spills over.) She loves her toys.  She's "talking" all the time now.  She pretty much sleeps through the night, although she's not much of a napper during the day.  She is one happy baby!!!  We love you, Millie!

Hello
she loves car rides
a fall stroll at the Granville Island Market to get produce
her serious pose (in her defense, she was sick this day :-(
tub time...notice hardly any water in there....she's so proud :-)

watching football with dad

Thank You!

On this Veterans' Day, we wish to thank the outstanding members of our family, Julie's father Bill Hughes, Jaimeson's grandfathers: Bill Stubbins, Frank Keegan, and Curly Deck, among others, who made tremendous sacrifices in honor of their countries, and to all veterans across the nation, and around the world.

We recognize what you have done for us, risking all that a person possibly can, and it leaves our hearts swollen with pride.  And while we may not ever completely understand the magnitude of your selflessness, we will always know that your military service demanded a level of courage which few people could attempt.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for all that you've given us, and your country.

We love you so much!
Jaimeson, Julie, Millie and Walter

Happy Birthday, Walter!!

It's Walter's birthday today...he turned 7 on the 7th....his GOLDEN birthday!  Wooo hooo!!  We celebrated by spoiling him rotten (like most days)...lots of treats, 2 walks, belly rubs and playing with his toys.  We finished the day with Sushi...lucky dog, huh?!  It's the least we can do for all the spirit and love he brings to our family.  Happy birthday, Good Boy...we love you! xo

he refuses to use chopsticks :-)

he could win a sushi eating contest....record time!
