We spent the last weekend of summer in the magical valley ofLake Chelan, with our dear, dear friends the Arnold's and Merce-Gay's. Lake Chelan is located about 3 hours east of Seattle, nestled in the North Cascades National Forest. The climate could not be more different than the Emerald City. Dry and warm most of the year. It is speckled with vineyards and state parks and sandy "warm" beaches. The lake is massive. We stayed at a quaint, cabin-filled resort called Kelly's. Although it was rustic, it definitely beat a tent, and each cabin was well equipped with everything we needed to get cozy and comfy for the long weekend. Good times were had by all!! We'll definitely be back next year.
