Christmas
We had a wonderful holiday with Grandpa Jay and Grandma Jill. Mimi and Pampa joined us for Christmas day and it was great to have the parents together.
We loved every second of your visit.

Our Sweet Boy, Walter
My heart aches as I write this, but we knew this day would come. As much as we hoped and wished and prayed, we knew our sweet puppy couldn't live forever. With big tears and a heavy, heavy heart, we said goodbye to this one-of-a-kind creature on December 15th. There is a void in our family that will never be replaced. Here is our tribute to you, dear Walter....
Walter
At least once a day I would make one or more kids a second breakfast, lunch or dinner because Walter would eat their first. Either off the table or out of their hand. It was normal...and expected. He followed no rules. He jumped on the furniture when we said 'no,' he ran in the opposite direction when we said 'come' and he got louder when we told him to 'quiet down.' Those of you lucky enough to know him, know what a little misfit he was. And crazy enough, with all his faults, we loved him like nothing else. He had my heart from day one, and always will. He was neurotic. He secured our house like no electronic system could. He howled at anything that came within 20ft of the premise, including his own reflection. This meant multiple times a day I was startled by his no-warning-terror of a howl at what typically surmounted to a squirrel crossing our yard. Don't even think about ringing our doorbell. I remember the looks on all our new neighbors faces every time we moved, when they realized we had a beagle. Fortunately, he won them over with his stand-offish charm. We had no clue what it meant to own a beagle when we answered a classfied on Craigslist saying 'puppy for sale.' Even though he wasn't from a shelter, I liked to say we rescued him because I'm not sure many would put up with his crazy antics for long. I called him my good-bad boy. He was oh so good and oh so bad. He climbed up on the table at our wedding party and ate every appetizer there. He managed to get his head stuck in a fence, chasing a squirrel out of the yard, that required a massive group effort to free him. He moved to Puerto Rico, Toronto and Vancouver with us. He was a jet setter. He hated poodles. I'm not sure why, but he only ever growled in their presence. He thought he was human, and we did too. He was our family member. My first born. I loved his beautiful, mischevious soul truly. My heart will always have a missing piece. Rest in peace my Sweet Beagle Boy. You were the greatest dog ever. You made us HAPPY. I love you so much. xx
