Ahhhhh....NOT AGAIN!!!

"Fool me once, shame on YOU....Fool me twice, shame on ME!"  That's right...I got skunked again.  Just 2 days apart....ugh!!!  Mom and dad are NOT happy.  I just can't help chasing that little guy when I see him....hmppfft!

Millie's 3 Months Old Today!

Yay...3 months old today!  It's so hard to believe we've been a family for 12 whole weeks.  We're having a blast!!  Millie is growing up right before our eyes.  She is turning out to be quite the entertainer...she has us laughing all day long.  She's getting stronger and holding her head up more and sitting up.  She loves going for stroller rides and watching everything around her.  She's one happy little baby!!

I got skunked!

Poor Walter...or should I say "poor us!"  I let Walter out at about 10:30 pm last night before going to bed...only to have him tear down the stairs in hot pursuit of a stranger in our yard.  For those of you that don't know, Walter's biggest pet peeve is anyone or anything entering our yard without his permission!  Well...that stranger happened to be a skunk!  Walter made it just to the bottom stair, when he took one in the face from that little guy.  I have to say, it was the WORST smelling skunk he has ever encountered (this is Walter's 3rd run-in)!!!!  I scooped him up and rushed him straight to the tub for a 15 minute scrub down.  Because it was 10:30, I was unable to run out and get official skunk shampoo...so my beauty products had to work for the time being!  It's been 24 hours and the stink is still lingering...although getting better!   Let's hope he's learned his lesson :-)

Millie is so happy to have the weekend "off!"  It's hard work being a baby!!  And the best part about this weekend, is DAD COMES HOME TOMORROW!  Yay!! 

So good to be home!

I had such a  fun-filled weekend in Seattle.  It was so fabulous spending time with my dear, dear friends down south and celebrating Laura and little Aydan.  It was such a great time catching up with everyone (I love you girls!)  Funny, now that I'm a mom i notice all we talk about is our kids!!!  It was so tough leaving Millie...even if it was just 30 hours...but I knew she was in good hands with Jaimeson and Walter.   I was excited for them to get unobstucted QT in!!  And as I know, Jaimeson was/is a champ on all levels!!  Superdad!!! I couldn't believe how little Millie had "changed" in that short time I was gone.  I walked in the door at 8pm, saturday evening to her "talking" up a storm.  She was practically having a conversation....not one that anyone but her could understand, but it was a lot of talking!  She was so vocal and expressive...I think she was trying to tell me how much fun she had with dad and Walter....and of course, how much she missed me :-)  She is playing more and interacting with her toys more, eating more, growing more and smiling more and giggling more.....lots of "mores!"  We love it....she's so entertaining!!   -Julie

Just Dad and the Kids!

For weeks, Friday, October 3rd has been circled in red on the calendar.  But just in case I might forget, Julie reminded me every day last week.  She was going to Seattle for our good friend Laura's baby shower (what will that make, 10, maybe 12 babies for the Seattle crew in 2 years or so? Nice work, gang!), and I was to play Mr. Mom until she got home early on Saturday afternoon. 

So Friday I worked from home - dual laptops at the dining room table with Milliebeans to my right and Walter to my left. They were, as ever, quite the good kids, as Dad managed to balance a busy work schedule with some amazing QT with his two favorites.

Each day, we took long walks around our neighborhood as Dad learned to balance everything that goes into the preparation and execution of walking with a baby and a dog (here's a list for anyone out of practice:  jogging stroller, blanket, capped bottle, bib, baby hoodie, leash, treats, poo bags, hand sanitizer, digital camera, plus the usual cellphone, wallet, keys, windbreaker - I need to paint this list on the door).  

We also made time for playing with blocks (Millie), and Leon the Dion (Walter's nemesis), and even Madden 09 - once the kids went to bed!

It was an awesome time and although it humbled me, I can't wait to do it again!
